Last week, we told you about the group of expert users who are working together to correct errors on the platform, one species at a time. But what should you do if you notice an error yourself?
We are fully aware of these issues, and our team is actively working alongside our community of volunteer “watchers” to ensure that our identification service and the data we share with the scientific community remain of the highest quality. But before any correction can take place, the first challenge is identifying these errors!
Once again, this is where Pl@ntNet’s greatest strength comes into play: the collaboration between its state-of-the-art AI model and its user community. It is an essential role that you, too, can play.
If you would like to help improve Pl@ntNet, we encourage you to report any errors you encounter while using the app. We carefully review every comment and every report we receive so that we can take concrete action as quickly as possible. It’s very simple: if you come across a persistent error, or if the identification suggestions and/or the gallery for a species appear to have drifted and no longer match the expected results, please contact us at contact@plantnet.fr.
We will take the time to review your feedback, assess the situation, and gradually resolve these issues.
And if you’re especially motivated, you can even join our community and work directly with the Pl@ntNet team on this curation effort.
We’re also pleased to announce that, in the near future, the Pl@ntNet interface will include a new warning icon indicating, for each species, when a known issue or a tendency toward identification errors has been detected.
